Trust You Are Enough!

Sometimes I wonder if being led to believe we are not good enough or that we have to deserve amazing things in our lives hasn’t been the most misleading piece of information we received growing up. It brings a smile to my face to watch all around me, people coming into their own as they realize they are enough and they deserve to live happy and healthy lives. Over the decades, Media, Hollywood and social norms have tried to convince us that we weren’t enough, but that simply isn’t true. Where did we ever get the idea that we weren’t good enough? Many people are unhappy with their lives, and are looking for ways to change it. Yes, we live in disturbing times; but that doesn’t mean we can’t use the situation we are in to redefine who we are and relearn that We Are Enough.

Make 2018 the year that you Trust You Are Enough!

Living life with more meaning and depth requires we change things. Change is scary for a lot of people. People rarely make major changes without first recognizing a desire to change. When we want to make changes in our life, becoming self-aware is part of the process and so is taking stock of what you would like to change. When we make changes, having a sense of where you are at in your life allows you to measure your progress.

Many of us came from homes where family members struggled with their own self-esteem and lack of self-appreciation which spilled over and became part of our collective identity. It was the norm to keep from bringing too much attention to one self for fear of being accused of drama or trying to take all the attention. This created low self-esteem and self-doubt. Recognizing low self-esteem is often the catalyst that takes our awareness inward where we can identify it and clear out any negative beliefs we have of our self. Cleaning out the old opens the door to esteeming ourselves properly from within.

This isn’t about criticizing our past; it’s about taking stock of where we are now. If we can clean out the old messaging that we are not good enough, we can make room for new beliefs that reflect the true nature and the good qualities about us. Get rid of the old messaging that says you are not good enough, because if you are making changes in your life, negative self-talk will only hold you back.

How to elevate your self-esteem.

  • Choose 3 areas in your life that you would like to see change and day dream about what your life would be like if you were living it now. (Focus on what you want over what you don’t want as positive intent elevates our energy and vibration.).
  • Make a list of your strengths. Note if this makes you feel uncomfortable. This is not about stroking our ego. Too often we look for what is wrong with us over what is right with us. This can leave us feeling down on ourselves or less inspired about our future. Loving and appreciating all of your good qualities may not be familiar for you; it may even selfish at first, but with a little practice and some perseverance, you can easily know what you are good at as you incorporate it into your daily life.
  • Make a list of what you don’t like about yourself and ask yourself where your beliefs came from. Are your beliefs yours or do they belong to someone else who said something that made you think less of yourself? Be brutally honest with yourself. Many times it is words said to us by others that we internalized that keep us back. Write down your negative beliefs on a separate piece of paper. Write down every thing that comes up, even if it doesn’t make sense to you. When you are finished, look it over then take it outside and either bury it in your yard or burn the list and let the ashes float away as they take the negative beliefs with them. Be done with them and cast them out as they no longer serve you. Trust you are enough.

To trust we are enough to register within you, you have to do more than recite the words out loud. We have to believe it to be true and to know and feel it’s real to be able to love ourselves from within. It is hard to do if you doubt yourself.

To trust we are enough means we have genuine confidence as we step into new challenges and personal growth moving forward. When we esteem ourselves from within, we can radiate that outward and attract more positive energy and outcomes back to us. This is a very inspired way to live life. The simple act of believing in ourselves has a powerful influence over us and our surroundings, and it deserves our attention.

Ridding Yourself of Fear

Releasing Fear that is Stored in Our Bodies

Have you ever watched animal kingdom videos and observed an animal’s natural tendencies and abilities to cope with their frightening experiences? In particular when one animal is being preyed upon by another and gets away, the animal that was preyed upon will go to a place where it feels safe and it will shake until the fear leaves its body. They shake it off.

We witness similar behavior with pets in the midst of an intense thunderstorm; they often shake until the fear has subsided. To witness shaking caused by fear in pets often makes the pet owner feel uncomfortable when it is a normal way for the pet to cope to prevent the fear from storing itself in its body. Nature has its own way of riding itself from fear. Animals use their natural ability to shake and remove the residual tension and adrenaline from their physical bodies when they are afraid and in doing so, don’t carry the tension with them any longer.

When people feel fear we often do the exact opposite, we clench our torso region and body, we hold our bodies tight and rigid in an attempt to control our responses as opposed to letting the fear flow through us and out of our bodies. This build-up of tension over time can have a negative impact on our physical and emotional well-being.

I’ve heard it said that fear is the ego and I disagree. Sometimes we have every right to be afraid of what we are experiencing, but when we let our mind paralyze our bodies with fear it registers at a cellular level. It lodges as a memory and as an unprocessed emotion that blocks our energetic flow. Our issues get lodged in our tissues. Until we are ready to release the tension from our bodies, the tension will sit there (or accumulate if more fear or unprocessed emotions are experienced) until our bodies become ill, run down or we numb out our feelings completely in order to avoid feeling the fear. This is a basic defense mechanism. Because our minds don’t like to feel fear, we shut down our emotions in order to escape feeling afraid and in doing so we let the tension overtake our physical form.

There are ways to release tension from our bodies. One way is to shake. Shaking helps mobilize our energy (chi). It gets our energy flowing in and around our bodies again. This short video describes and shows how to shake your body.  Click here to view Use your own discernment when deciding how passively or enthusiastically you attempt to shake your body (No one knows your body as well as you do). As you strengthen this practice, you can build on your enthusiasm and momentum as you shake, removing even more pent up fear from your body.

Free your body of residual fear. Take two minutes today and shake, shake out any fear that may have lodged itself in your body. Listen to your body as you shake. Shake negative energy out and allow more positive energies to take up space within your physical body. Retrain your body to release fear and any other unprocessed emotions. The more we feel what our bodies need from us, the more we can access our deep human nature. The more we are in touch with our deep human nature; the more we are living true to who we really are.

Purge fear from your body and be aware of the space that opens up for new positive feelings to take up residence within you. Changing your energetic state is a prerequisite to changing your life and it all starts within. Shake out the old and make room for the new.

Four Things You Can Do to Prevent Feeling Lonely this January

Where I live, January traditionally is the most depressing time of the year and although there are plenty of opportunities to get out and do things to help get over the hump of feeling lonely or isolated, sometimes a more profound solution can be found closer to home. When people ask me how they can overcome feelings of loneliness, I suggest they turn to their inner guidance, their inner voice for answers. So if you haven’t tried it yet, do the unexpected. When experiencing any feelings of loneliness, just sit with the feeling and do nothing. That’s right; do nothing except get quiet, become aware and listen to yourself as you pay closer attention to what your inner voice is telling you.

As crazy as it sounds, if you haven’t checked in with yourself lately, try it.You may unearth a ton of information that you may not have been previously aware. You can get in touch with yourself a variety of ways. Here are my top four.

  1. Plan for your future in a way that you want to live it. Get excited about your future prospects. If you could live your life in the most fulfilling way, what would it look like? What do you want to experience in your life? Prepare a list of a minimum of three things. I’m not talking about acquiring nice jewelry or the fancy car that can amuse us temporarily; those are nice to have, but don’t give us a lot of meaning. I’m referring to what it is that inspires you. Feelings of loneliness can be brought on because of lack of feeling needed or fulfilled. As you create your list, don’t forget to include living your life with purpose. When you are driven by a desire to achieve what inspires you (your passion or your purpose), you become connected to your cause and more deeply to yourself. Is there a person who comes to mind that is doing something inspirational in the world that you admire? What inspires you? It feels good to make a difference in the world. Not having a purpose or cause can leave a person feeling in limbo and out of sync if they don’t feel inspired. Make this the year you ask yourself what you truly want. What have you got to lose? Having an idea of what you want your future to look like is a great first step in getting you where you want to be. You can take it a step further by asking; “How may I be of service to others.” Write it down so you can refer back to it periodically. If it is a life partner you are looking for, don’t be so focused on who they are. Instead envision what you will be doing when that person arrives. What will attract them to you? Besides, if you are counting on that person to bring you happiness, your union is doomed to fail; happiness comes from within.
  2. Take an inventory of your life as it is now. This is a simple self-awareness exercise to do. Look back at what you did in the last 12 months. Write down what worked for you and what did not. By separating out the various areas of your life, it makes it easier to recap how you spend your time. How much time did you spend with others and how much time did you take for yourself? What did you enjoy doing? Rate your overall feelings in categories of physical well-being, career, hobbies and interests, financial, relationships with yourself and others. How did the last 12 months measure up for you? What excited you and made you happy? Are you planning on doing anything differently in 2017? By outlining what makes you happy and by categorizing it in chunks of time, you can clearly see how your days, weeks and months were spent and with whom. What didn’t work for you? If something isn’t working for you anymore, can you remove it from your life or at least reduce the amount of time you spend doing what it is that you don’t like? (This could also apply to a person).
  3. Listen with your awareness. There are many ways we can experience loneliness, and feeling disconnected from ourselves is one of them. We can’t feel deeply connected to those around us if we aren’t feeling what is happening in our inner world. How does your body feel right now? Are you holding tension, feeling constricted or do you have a feeling of tightness anywhere in your body? Take a deep breath in and as you exhale, notice how your body feels to you. Repeat this a couple of times if it feels right. Is there something your body is telling you that you weren’t aware of? Listen to yourself without judgement—perhaps an idea comes to mind that gives you a fresh perspective on an issue you are facing. You are your most trusted advisor, and by listening to yourself, you are connecting with your inner self and when you do this on a richer, deeper level, you are never alone.
  4. Change your perspective to that of positivity. Being aware that you want your life to change is huge. With that awareness, you can change your vibe. What chores or mundane jobs are required of you that you don’t like to do? When you change your focus to what benefit you receive by doing a particular job or chore, it can turn the experience from a negative to a positive and positive people are infectious to be around. Is there a silver lining or a perspective that can be positively reflected upon with regard to your less than favorite chores? I personally don’t care to do housework, but I like how my house looks, smells and feels when it is clean, so I focus on how I will feel in my clean my house after I spend some time tidying up.

As more people are awakening to the fact that happiness comes from within, they realize it is our own completedness that we are meant to experience and share. When you like who you are and what you are doing in your life, everything changes including the energetic vibe you give off. When you like who you are, you are never alone. To get to like yourself, you need to know yourself. It all lies within.

Commit to the relationship you have with yourself this winter. When was the last time you spent 10 minutes sitting quietly and simply listening to your inner voice and your body? Do the unconventional and spend some time with yourself and reflect inward to what you want to do and to experience later in the year and beyond. Let your imagination be your guide as you plan out your future. Use your heart as your inspiration and know that sunny days are ahead.

Unleash Your Potential; Re-align your enthusiasm for 2017

Ignite Your Spark!!

Have you ever noticed the level of enthusiasm and zest some people have for life; for them an endless supply of energy seems readily available. It is a joy to observe and uplifting to be around. They elevate the lives of the people around them without even trying and they share a common trait; they are all here to help others. They know who they are and what they are here to do; they have found their purpose in life, do what inspires them and they know how to command their energy; how to get themselves moving forward.

Being of service to others can help create enthusiasm for life and give us direction. It is a reason to feel good about ourselves. Helping others is the reason we are on the planet. We all meant to co-exist and we all have a unique way of going about it. What is your unique gift? How will you go about sharing your unique talents with others?

As the saying goes, “Without a plan, any road will get you there.” We all need a goal in life, a plan of action so we can share our talents, gifts and skills with the world. I’m not referring to the mundane financial goals; yes we all need to pay our bills, I’m referring to the goals that leave us inspired and motivated to be the best we can be.

Reaching the state of enthusiasm required to achieve our goals can be hard to do, let alone stay in for any length of time. What if we could change that? What if we could find a way into more enthusiasm and zest for life as we live true to our purpose?

Not everyone got the chance to learn the lessons on enthusiasm in life when we were growing up, and because of that, we suppress ourselves by not exploring what the ‘thing’ is that we truly want to do, let alone go after. Don’t let that hold you back. That ‘thing’ that inspires us to be enthusiastic for life, that spark that gives us our purpose and elevates our feelings of self-worth and confidence is important to our psyche. That ‘thing’ also gives us hope and a strong sense of self-respect. Elevating our feelings of self-worth creates an upward spiral of feeling positive about ourselves and life. It allows us to be proud of who we are; proud in a good way and it elevates the amount of personal energy we have.

So if you are feeling uninspired or less than enthused about life lately, look for ways that you can turn that around. If you are looking for fresh ways to feel inspired about finding your purpose in life; download Chapter One of Ending Global Loneliness; Finding Purpose, Love and Dynamic Relationships. (“Why We Are Here—Connecting with our Purpose in Life.”) click here to receive your copy. http://eepurl.com/ctgXOn Set aside some time and the curiosity to get in touch with what really inspires and moves you, to find the ‘thing’ that you know can help you live in awe of your own life and how you give to others.

How will you emerge in 2017? Make 2017 the year you unleash your potential, live more inspired and be enthusiastic about your future.

Ignite your spark; the spark that uplifts your enthusiasm as you remind yourself about what inspires you for 2017 and beyond.
